WEDNESDAY 8-23, THURSDAY 8-24

When you are creating your zoo of shape creatures be sure to use good contrast between the creature and the background.  Copy the following:
Contrast is important.
Contrast means difference.  Two common types of contrast are:
1. The contrast of complementary colors (colors opposite on the color wheel):
Examples:
purple and Yellow
green and red
blue and orange.

2. The contrast created by strong value diferences.
Example: Black against white or a very dark blue against a pale sky blue.

These two kinds of contrast are often combined for a really strong contrast.
Example:
A dark red color in the background and a light green object in the foreground.

Now write the following as rules for being creative.
The Creative Process:
1. Do not settle on the first idea.  Create variations of a theme.  This means try MANY DIFFERENT WAYS of doing the same thing.

2. Analyze and revise.  Look at what you have done.  Try to see what works the best.  Make revisions and improvements.

In the end you will likely select the best from your variations.

Activity 1
- Create a shape creature using layers.  We will do this together.  Now create 2 variations by doing the same thing over but make your creature a bit different each time.
